2016 COMPETITION SEASON
The 2016 game Stronghold consisted of three robots working on an alliance against the opposing teams to breach defenses know as the outer works of the field. Their goal is to weaken the other team's tower using boulders, and capture it. When they do, the teams would score. The defenses change every round based on audience selection except the low bar. Robots started in the neutral zone and each side has boulders lined up on the midline, and are able to contain one boulder. A "spy bot" could start on the opposing side's courtyard with the assistance of a human player. The first 15 seconds are autonomous, the rest of the match, 2 minutes and fifteen seconds. Defenses after being crossed once are weakened, and twice are damaged. After four of the five defenses have been crossed, the opponents' defenses have been breached. The tower had a high goal at the top, and a low goal at the bottom level with the field. Human players deliver boulders through the secret passageway, where only their alliance could enter. As teams score points in the tower, it is weakened. When enough boulders have been scored into the tower, it is weakened and can be captured. It is captured by all three bots on an alliance once they are surrounding it. In the last 20 seconds of the match, players can scale the tower by hanging on a bar near the top.
We appreciate the support for our principal Mr. Flohr for cheering on the team at the 2016 Central IL Regional. (see below)
